Executive Director Andrew Serwin recently presented on FTC enforcement, including in the health care arena, as part of a panel entitled “HIPAA Privacy Update-Best Practices and Pitfalls, Privacy Investigation,” at the 2014 Western Benefits Conference in Las Vegas. As a result, companies should make sure their practices are complaint with both HIPAA, as well as other requirements, particularly when they are using sensitive data such as health data.
